SCIENTIFIC STUDY PROVES BACK-A-LINE IMPROVES POSTURE ! In a peer-reviewed, independent study, presented at the Fourth Applied Ergonomics Conference, ergonomists from Miami (Ohio) University have definitively PROVEN that Back-A-Line, with its patented lumbar pad, truly does improve posture. This is big news for the 50 million sufferers of chronic or sporadic back pain. The study’s methodology gives it even more credibility. Other back support studies have focused on heavy lifting tasks (less than 10% of back pain sufferers). If a subject prepares for a heavy lift, he focuses on his posture, considering the risk he perceives. Changes in posture are not the result of benefits from the support device but, rather, consciously protecting his back. There was NO lifting in the Back-A-Line study, so it is much harder to achieve a measurable difference in posture. Subjects were sitting or standing, performing simple maneuvers, such as threading a needle. Without the perceived lifting risk, subjects did not focus on posture (consciously or otherwise) so the results were solely attributable to the back support they were wearing. Watch this space in the near future for details on publication
of this peer-reviewed study. In the meantime, Back-A-Line is the only back
support PROVEN to do what a back support should do, improve posture
.
